If a Disney water park is part of your upcoming vacation, there’s a change you’ll want to know about.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will **temporarily close beginning September 9, 2026** for refurbishment. Disney has not announced a reopening date at this time.
During the closure, **Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park** will remain the Disney water park option for guests.
A Few Disney Summer Extras Are Wrapping Up Too
The timing also lines up with the end of **Cool KIDS’ SUMMER**, which ran from May 26 through September 8 and included extra summer fun across Walt Disney World—including both Disney water parks being open.
September 8 also marks the final eligible arrival date for the **2026 Disney Resort check-in-day water park benefit**. Eligible Disney Resorts Collection hotel guests arriving from May 26 through September 8 could receive water park admission on their check-in day as part of their stay.
That benefit isn’t disappearing for good—Disney has already confirmed it will return for eligible Disney Resort hotel guests in **summer 2027**, with additional dates and details still to come.
What to Know for Your Trip
If you were planning a Typhoon Lagoon day after September 8, check Disney’s current water park calendar before your vacation and take a look at Blizzard Beach instead.
Disney has not announced a reopening date for Typhoon Lagoon, so we won’t guess. Refurbishment schedules and park availability can always change.
