3 Walt Disney World Rides Are Getting Holiday Music for 2026

Holiday ride overlays are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT — and you won’t need a separately ticketed Christmas party to experience them.

Walt Disney World is turning up the holiday music this year with seasonal changes coming to three attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is getting its first holiday overlay, Alien Swirling Saucers is adding a Christmas playlist, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is shuffling three holiday songs into its soundtrack.

The best part for families? These aren’t Christmas party exclusives. They’re limited-time changes you can experience during a regular park day.

There is one date difference to watch: both Hollywood Studios experiences begin November 4, while Cosmic Rewind joins the holiday fun November 25.

Here’s what’s changing.

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Gets an “Obligatory Holiday Overlay”

This one is more than swapping out a song.

Disney is calling it Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay, and the holiday fun starts before you even enter G-Force Records.

Festive music will play around the attraction’s guitar marquee, while G-Force Records gets holiday story additions as The Electric Mayhem prepares for a seasonal concert.

Then, of course, there’s the ride.

Disney says the overlay will feature four new holiday-inspired tracks, although its October 6 announcement currently names only three:

Disney hasn’t identified that fourth track yet, so there’s apparently still one little Muppet holiday surprise waiting for us.

For us, this is probably the most interesting of the three because Disney isn’t just changing the music. The attraction itself is getting in on Christmas.

And honestly, Obligatory Holiday Overlay might be the most Muppet name they could have possibly given it. 😂

Even the Aliens Are Getting a Christmas Playlist 👽🎄

Alien Swirling Saucers is joining the fun with four holiday tunes:

This comes right after Disney introduced Lilypad’s Jams in September, bringing a new DJ and soundtrack experience to Alien Swirling Saucers beginning September 25.

Now that music-focused update is carrying right into Christmas.

For families already spending time in Toy Story Land, it’s just a fun little holiday extra — and something different for repeat visitors.

Also, I’m sorry, but Joy to the Swirl is pretty cute. 😂

Cosmic Rewind Is Shuffling Three Holiday Songs

Now this one could get competitive in our family.

Beginning November 25, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will shuffle three different holiday tracks between rides:

So you won’t necessarily get the same song every time.

And anyone who has ridden Cosmic Rewind with different tracks already knows how much the music can change the whole feel of the ride.

Which means Disney has basically given us another reason to say, “Well...I guess we have to ride it again.” 😂

One date note: Disney’s official graphic and the opening of its October 6 announcement say the holiday soundtrack runs through January 6, while another section of the same Disney Parks Blog article says January 12. We’re using January 6 for now and will update this if Disney clarifies it.

And one fun planning note: Cosmic Rewind starts celebrating on November 25, two days before EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays begins November 27.

So if you’re there November 25 or 26, Christmas arrives at Cosmic Rewind a little early.

A Little More Christmas Without Another Ticket

This may actually be our favorite part of the announcement.

Disney has plenty of big holiday events you can plan — and pay for. But sometimes it’s the little seasonal things you stumble across during a regular park day that make Christmas at Disney feel different.

These three fit perfectly into that category.

We probably wouldn’t build an entire park day around hearing one Christmas song.

But would we absolutely add one of these rides to our plans while we’re there? Yep.

And if it’s Cosmic Rewind, I already know somebody is going to want to ride again because we “got the wrong Christmas song.” 😂
