Christmas magic is popping up all over Walt Disney World! From a rare chance to catch Magic Kingdom’s holiday parade with regular park admission to changing party availability, resort updates, and an adorable new arrival at Animal Kingdom, here’s what families should know as they plan their next visit.
Here's a little Christmas magic that doesn't require purchasing a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party ticket!
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 10, and Wednesday, November 11, 2026, during regular Magic Kingdom operating hours.
Normally, guests visiting earlier in the holiday season need a separate Christmas party ticket to enjoy this parade. These two daytime performances give guests with regular park admission another opportunity to see the festive floats, dancing gingerbread men, marching toy soldiers, Disney characters, and Santa Claus.
The performances are connected with anticipated filming for Disney's ABC holiday television specials. Disney's Festival of Fantasy Parade is not scheduled in its usual afternoon slot on those two dates.
We've personally attended these filming days twice and watched from the hub near Cinderella Castle. It's where we captured our own photos and videos of the festivities, and it's a wonderful spot to experience the parade!
If you're planning to watch, arrive early enough to find a comfortable viewing spot. Filming days can bring additional cameras, equipment, and crowds, so they may feel a little different from an ordinary parade day.
And if you're visiting with little ones, remember that a parade is much more enjoyable when everyone has had a bathroom break and a snack before settling in!

The Christmas party calendar is getting a little tighter!
As of October 22, 12 of the 25 scheduled Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nights had sold out, including November 25 and November 27.
That left 13 dates available at the time of reporting, although ticket availability can change.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes place on select nights from November 8 through December 22, 2026. The party runs from 7:00 PM until midnight, with ticket holders able to enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM.
Tickets range from $189 to $229 per guest ages 10 and older, plus tax, depending on the date. Children’s tickets for ages 3–9 are $10 less, and eligible Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can receive discounts on select nights.
If attending the Christmas party is a must-do for your family, I’d check your preferred date before making the rest of your evening plans.
Also remember that Magic Kingdom closes at 6:00 P.M. to regular daytime guests on Christmas party nights. That matters when choosing which day to visit, especially if you’re hoping to stay for nighttime entertainment.
If you’re still deciding whether the party is right for your family, our Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 guide walks through the festivities, ticket information, and what to expect.
Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, November 7, the opening night of Disney Jollywood Nights, has also sold out.
As of the October 19 ticket check, the remaining 14 event dates were still listed for purchase, including November 14, 16, 21, 23, and 28; select December nights; and January 3 and 5, 2027.
Jollywood Nights runs from 7:30 PM to 12:30 AM, with event ticket holders able to enter Hollywood Studios beginning at 5:30 PM.
This party has a different atmosphere from Magic Kingdom’s Christmas celebration, with holiday entertainment, characters, and a little old-Hollywood glamour.
If you’re comparing the two celebrations or already have Jollywood Nights tickets, our Disney Jollywood Nights 2026 guide has more information to help you plan your evening.
And just like the Magic Kingdom party, remember that Hollywood Studios closes earlier to regular guests on Jollywood Nights dates.
Planning a visit during Christmas week or New Year’s Eve? Disney’s initial park calendars give families an early look at the late-December schedule.
These are advance calendar listings, not a promise that every park will keep the same hours. Recheck the My Disney Experience app as your travel dates approach, especially if you’re planning dining, transportation, or a late-night celebration.
Families with an upcoming stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort should know that refurbishment work is now expected to continue into early 2027.
Construction activity can affect the atmosphere around parts of the resort, even when guest areas remain available. If the Polynesian is on your resort shortlist, check Disney’s latest refurbishment notices before choosing your room or travel dates.
Here’s a small but useful change for mornings at the Polynesian: Wailulu Bar & Grill has added breakfast mobile ordering.
That may make it easier to fit breakfast into a busy park morning, particularly when everyone is trying to get out the door. Check the My Disney Experience app for the current menu, available pickup windows, and ordering details before you go.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa reopened its direct vehicle entrance on October 19 following work in the area.
That’s a welcome update for guests arriving by car or rideshare. The photograph above shows the resort, not the entrance roadway itself; follow current signage and Cast Member directions when arriving.
If meeting the live-action Ariel is on your Hollywood Studios list, take note of a location change. Beginning October 28, her greeting is expected to move temporarily from Walt Disney Presents to the Echo Lake area.
Check the My Disney Experience app on your visit day for the current greeting location and times. The photo above shows her former location, not the temporary greeting spot.
There’s an adorable new reason to spend a little extra time exploring Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Quartz, a rare albino wallaby joey, has been introduced at Jumping Junction.
Disney’s Animals at Disney account has shared photos and video of Quartz both near the pouch and exploring outside it. The joey’s pale coloring and pink features make this little animal especially memorable. As always with animals, sightings aren’t guaranteed, and Quartz may not be visible during your visit.
To reach Conservation Station and Jumping Junction, head to Harambe and board the Wildlife Express Train. The ride is part of the experience, offering a change of pace from the park’s busier pathways.
Once there, families can explore animal-care and conservation experiences, which may include views into the Veterinary Treatment Room, Animal Nutrition Window, and Science Center. Wilderness Explorers activities can add another fun layer for curious kids. Availability and activities may vary.
Families can also look for Bluey’s Wild World, featuring playful group activities inspired by Bluey and Bingo. This is an interactive group experience rather than a promise of an individual character meet-and-greet.
We love when a park day includes something a little unexpected, and this area offers a chance to slow down, learn something new, and enjoy a different side of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Remember to allow time for the return train ride when planning the rest of your day.
Whether you’re counting down to the holiday parties, making room for a Christmas parade, or discovering something new at Animal Kingdom, a little advance planning can make those magical moments easier to enjoy. Here’s to more memories and a little less rushing around the parks. ✨
